About Mike

Mike became hooked on playing with fire from the moment he walked into a welding class at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the early 1970’s. With his natural ability and his love of the process, he found ways to hone his skills to include all aspects of metal joining. Working as a semiconductor-process machine designer in the computer hardware industry, he became expert in TIG, MIG, Brazing, and Plasma cutting.

He is adept with many metals including copper, brass, aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, and can even design and create obsolete replacement parts for the automobile restoration industry. His signature freehand (non computer generated) custom artwork on signs, toppers for his BBQ’s and just about anything our customers want have become well known in our area.

Now working full time on his home turf on the Central Coast, Mike is widely regarded as the master BBQ builder in this area. He has literally dozens of installations and custom orders to his credit, specializing in all sizes and styles of freestanding BBQ’s as well as drop-in masonry, trailerable, and tail-gate styles. Mike also makes other functional and decorative metal objects including custom fences, gates, firepits, decorative yard art and BBQ tools. These items are avilable either at our gallery or by custom request.
